Season Five: 2018 - 2019
Fully established in the community with four seasons under our belt, we took to the road and our audience followed. Our staged reading series found new life as well, and was rebranded as Matinees and Mimosas, a tradition we are still embracing to this day. Once a month we present a staged reading of a new play, accompanied by a talkback with the playwright and featuring complimentary brunch snacks, tasty treats, and of course mimosas. We began the season with a new work - The Mating instinct by Aren Haun - renting space at South of Broadway Theatre. We came back to Threshold Rep for Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley, then presented Martin McDonagh's The Pillowman in both spaces. Then back at South of Broadway Theatre for Neil Simon's Rumors.
The Piccolo offering this season was Too Much Memory by Keith Redden and Meg Gibson. At the start of this season, Blair went off to earn her Masters in directing at Boston University, with David Moon stepping up to help lead us as Co-Artistic Director.
Season Six: 2019 - 2020
Our sixth season was...um...a bit different. We started late with a New Play Festival at South of Broadway Theatre, featuring two workshops and a staged reading. We presented Skin and Bones by Laura Neill and MLM is Murder (or Your Side Hustle is Killing Us) by John Bavoso.
The pandemic cut this season short, and it would be the start of a long hiatus. During this time, Jason would head back over to Flowertown Players where he held numerous responsibilities over the next 4 years.
Jumping on the trend of the livestream, necessary at the time, we presented Ivana Jungmann's Scrooge Goes West for some holiday cheer.
